The City of Prescott won a Golden Prospector Award from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED), recognizing excellence, innovation and creativity in economic development.
The City of Prescott was awarded the highly coveted recognition for “Deal of the Year.” In March 2016, VinylVisions, a California company specializing in vinyl-trim for commercial and residential windows and doors, broke ground on their new Class A two-story office component and state-of-the-art vinyl extrusion manufacturing 50,000 square foot building in March. What made this project particularly successful was the ability of the Prescott Economic Development Office to gather all of the resources and agencies needed to work together in bringing the project to the community, without regard for city or town boundaries. It was this alliance, first and foremost, that contributed and advanced the economic development profession by demonstrating the importance of partnerships in a successful project, and garnered Prescott the award for “Deal of the Year.”
Along with relocating key employees from their California location, VinylVisions hired 25 employees initially and will be growing to more than 50 at completion. Over $5 million dollars is being invested into the site and building. The innovative design/build project by Sun State Builders and Balmer Architectural Group will set a new standard for Prescott manufacturing facilities.
